Spotify Buys Not One, But Two Podcasting Companies: Gimlet Media And Anchor
Rumors in the media last week suggested that Spotify was going to buy a major podcasting company. In the end, it went one better than that.
SPOT has just confirmed that it has entered into definitive agreements to acquire New York-based podcasting production company Gimlet Media as well as Anchor, whose software “enables anyone to easily create, distribute, and monetize a podcast”.

She Is The Music (SITM) has partnered with the USC Annenberg Inclusion Initiative, Billboard Media Group and Universal Music Group (UMG) to further its work in the music industry.
Founded in 2018, SITM is a nonprofit focused on achieving equality, inclusivity and opportunity for women in music.

Apple Music Unleashes a ‘Memoji’ Grammy Campaign Featuring Ariana Grande, Khalid, and Florida Georgia Line
Apple promoted its animoji technology during last year’s Grammys with characters lip-syncing Childish Gambino and Migos. This year, the tech company is broadening its ‘memoji’ concept with professionally animated versions of several artists.
We got our first taste of the new memojis with several gigantic billboards. The mega-displays went up in Los Angeles over the weekend, just in time for the Grammy Awards. The billboards featured stars like Ariana Grande, Kacey Musgraves, and Shawn Mendes in a delightfully animated look (more on those here).
