“Spotify is committed to supporting the careers of artists of every level, including the next generation of global superstars. RISE is a powerful platform and an investment towards the future of emerging artists and the fans who discovered them first.”
So said Troy Carter, then Spotify’s Global Head of Creator Services, in October 2017. Carter was heralding the launch of Spotify’s RISE initiative – a major new platform designed to profile and celebrate the best new artists emerging in the global music business with sustained multimedia support on Spotify’s service.

Big Hit, Netmarble team up on new music-streaming platform
Big Hit Entertainment, the mastermind behind global sensation BTS, and the nation’s No. 1 mobile game developer, Netmarble, have joined hands to launch a brand-new music-streaming platform, multiple sources said Tuesday.
Even though the new platform may not be solely dedicated to BTS, sources say, the septet is highly likely to release some new songs exclusively for the platform.

Is Traditional Radio About to Crash? Audience Levels In America Have Been Flat for Three Years Straight
2019’s radio listening statistics make this format look deceptively resilient.
According to the Nielsen’s 2019 Audio Today Report, which was recently made available, 272 million Americans listen to traditional radio every week, an increase of 7 million or about 2.5 percent, from 2016’s figures. Sounds like an impressive gain on an equally impressive base of listeners, though total listenership has actually remained stagnant since 2017.
