As of May 15th, Spotify announced they’re bringing artist teams, labels and distributors to Spotify for Artists so users can manage their profile, see and analyze data and pitch to playlists, all in one place. Here’s the rundown…
All Together Now: Spotify for Artists Combines Features for Artists, Managers, and Labels
“Over time, as we’ve listened to feedback and seen how people use Spotify for Artists and Spotify Analytics, it’s been clear just how collaborative artists and their teams are in analyzing data and planning promotional strategies. In an effort to empower artists, managers, and labels to work together as seamlessly as possible, we’re bringing everyone together in one place: Spotify for Artists.” – Spotify
What’s changing?
You’ll still have the same access to your data and profile, and will still be able to pitch new releases to editorial and algorithmic playlists, upload a Canvas, and add an Artist Fundraising Pick, but will now benefit from having your whole team and label in one place.
To enable this, they’ve made some updates to the platform:
- Team Management // Artists, managers and labels will be able to add multiple people to their teams, and see a log of actions taken across their team in Spotify for Artists with a new Activity Page.
- Data and Analytics // Spotify for Artists users will continue to see helpful data and insights. Labels will see data for recordings they have the rights to.
- Artist Profile // In the coming weeks, both artist and label teams will be able to make changes to an artist profile — whether it’s updating a bio or sharing a playlist through Artist Pick.
- Mobile App // Because this information is better when it’s easily accessible, labels joining Spotify for Artists will now have access to our mobile app, available on iOS and Android.
If you’ve never used Spotify for Artists, Spotify has shared all the useful things you can do with the new tools, along with some helpful case studies here.
Spotify will continue to bring Spotify Analytics users into Spotify for Artists over the coming months. Spotify Analytics users can expect to receive an email from Spotify with next steps soon.
