On August 5th, Instagram announced IG Reels, a new way to create and discover short, entertaining videos, has officially launched on Instagram. Here’s the rundown…
Introducing IG Reels
All you have to do is select “Reels” at the bottom of the Instagram camera, and let your creativity take the wheel! Easy as that. To help you unleash your creative spirit, IG Reels gives you tons of tools to work with.
Similarly to TikTok, you can use audio from the Instagram Library or record your own, choose from tons of effects in their extensive effect gallery, speed up or slow down part of your video or audio, and so much more.
“Reels invites you to create fun videos to share with your friends or anyone on Instagram. Record and edit 15-second multi-clip videos with audio, effects, and new creative tools. You can share reels with your followers on Feed, and, if you have a public account, make them available to the wider Instagram community through a new space in Explore. Reels in Explore offers anyone the chance to become a creator on Instagram and reach new audiences on a global stage.” – Instagram
