Get To Know Anie Delgado
Ethereal & powerful. Crystalized vocals with a fun-filled cerebral sound. Anie Delgado is an anomaly. A homegrown, All-American girl raised under the cultural umbrella of her Cuban roots within a sleepy small-town Floridian community who knew she had a laser-sharp vision and lofty goals with the vocal prowess and lyrical chops to succeed.
The young Cuban-American, born in Miami and raised in Melbourne, Florida, was immersed in a childhood full of her Cuban heritage, full of a colorful Latin culture of food, music, and family. After receiving her first guitar at the age of nine, Anie journaled and wrote as a young teen, inspired by artists like Cher and Jewel, as she dug deep and explored her voice figuratively, lyrically, and literally.
New York City beckoned, and after a quick visit to the Big Apple the winter of her Senior Year, she knew this was where she was meant to be. After an audition in Miami, she was accepted into The American Musical and Dramatic Academy. With her Latin roots mixed with her newfound experience in New York among the multicultural diversity of the City, she was motivated to expand her performance repertoire and included a stint in an experimental rock band as the lead singer where she played at The Bowery Electric, The Delancey, Gold Sounds Bar and Leftfield NYC.
Now, Anie lives in Los Angeles and works with producers PJ Bianco (The Jonas Brothers, ARIZONA, Demi Lovato) and Nick Lee (Baby Jake, Stray Kids). Anie discovered her love of producing and gained confidence trusting her musical instincts and writing from her heart. In late 2019, Anie Delgado joined Blakely Entertainment and commenced work on her debut EP with Sam Nicolosi of Warner Chapel/Seeking Blue. Her debut single, “Daydream” is the first single from the EP which was released in late 2020, followed by “Dancing While the World is on Fire”, released in February 2021.
“I was working on my debut EP with NICOLOSI throughout the pandemic. The process was a combination of virtual and in-person sessions at a distance. One of our first sessions back in person took place the week that the Black Lives Matters protests began. Sam and I were trying to decide what to write, when we got into a conversation about how bleak the state of the world was: the racial injustices, the pandemic, global warming, you name it. I started to talk about my outlook on the world. This song came to be and was inspired by the unity and moments of humanity I’ve seen throughout uncomfortable change especially by my generation. If you listen to the lyrics, the attitude of the song is very much like, these are the cards we’ve been dealt, they’re shitty, but no matter what the world is going to keep turning, how can we make it better together? It encompasses the sadness I was feeling at the beginning of the pandemic because I really felt like the world was ending, but it is also uplifting and hopeful that my generation will band together and do something about it, like historically, young people have always done.” – Anie Delgado on her new song “Dancing While the World is on Fire”.
