Get To Know Katie Toupin
Katie Toupin did what most people wish they could do; she rewrote her story. After six years with her former band Houndmouth, she continues to create music that is true to herself. After leaving Houndmouth, she embarked on a journey to LA where she released a live EP, “Moroccan Ballroom“. She ventured to Austin, TX to self-produce her eclectic, yet cohesive debut LP, “Magnetic Moves“.
After enormous praise and support from Paste Magazine, Pop Matters, Relix, as well as AAA radio which had previously given her a #1 single “Sedona” (over 100 million Spotify streams) with her previous ensemble, Katie forges ahead with new music. Her fans continue to support and follow her inspiring journey of transformation and self-reliance.
“Astronaut” was written in the first month of lockdown, “I was staying at my moms house, surrounded by my nieces toys, remembering the wonder and excitement of all the things I could be. It was in this moment that I realized that we all lose that degree of belief in ourselves somewhere along the way, to some degree. I wanted to remind myself, as well as my nieces, they are powerful beyond measure.” – Katie Toupin
