We’re very excited to finally announce Symphonic’s expansion into Africa and Mexico! These rapidly growing markets provide us with new and inspiring opportunities that we can’t wait to pour our heart and souls into. Here’s everything you need to know.
Symphonic Distribution Expands to Africa & Mexico
Here’s the rundown…
Africa is a rapidly expanding market with eight of the world’s 15 fastest growing economies and a music industry that has produced several recent successes with viral artists such as WizKid, Davido and Burna Boy. Mexico represents a growing and dynamic market as it is the 16th largest music market overall with expectations to reach the top 10 as streaming adoption increases.
Symphonic seized an opportunity to pair teams with impressive resumes in both territories. This expansion comes shortly after our recent very successful expansion into Brazil in early January 2021 that saw key signings such as Tropa Do Bruxo, Krawk, Sabotage, Raffa Moreira, Welisson, and more. 🔥
“I am thrilled to see Symphonic expanding in these very exciting markets. The individuals we’ve brought on board have a lot of experience in the territories and understand the needs and wants of creators in their respective regions. Having them on board will not only mean a great service offering for creators but it additionally means that we, as a company, will get better by building tools that can help super serve in these markets. What we are doing is only the beginning.” says Jorge Brea, Symphonic’s CEO.
What else is new?
In Africa, we’ve enlisted Tamsanqa Ngxeketo to lead a team out of South Africa that consists of A&R and Client Marketing services. Additionally, the company has key partnerships and aggregators focused on Afrobeats, Gospel, Gqom, and other popular genres which will help expand its reach as a leader in the continent. — He states, “I am excited to join Symphonic with key personnel aimed at shining a light on new and exciting talent in South Africa and beyond.“
In addition, we’ve also enlisted Ariel Etbul to lead the organization’s efforts in Mexico. With 18+ years of experience in the music industry, Ariel has helped countless artists monetize their content and was a pioneer in digital music distribution in Mexico. Mr. Etbul believes in the education of artists and labels and has been a speaker at many events across Latin America including FIMPRO, Circulart, BAFIM and many more. — “Symphonic’s Latin roots and presence is very exciting. My team members and I are thrilled to be a part of this dynamic, growing company. We are excited to show the world what we can do together.”
