Amazon just released their limited-access beta version of Amp, a new app that gives you a way to DJ your own live radio shows. Here’s everything you need to know…
Introducing Amp, Amazon’s New Live Radio App
Here’s the rundown…
The future of radio here, and we’re seeing it live with Amp. This new app lets anyone grab the mic and run the airways on their own terms. With it, anyone can create live shows among some of the biggest talent in the industry. Stars like Nicki Minaj, Travis Barker, Pusha T, and more are all hoping on the wave. Not only that, the app is totally free to use.
With Amp, “Creators can use a catalog of tens of millions of licensed songs from Universal Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment, Warner Music Group, and a long list of independent music companies, such as Beggars Group, Believe, CD Baby, and PIAS, with more being added every day. Creators can also engage with their community in real time—no subscription, additional hardware, or editing needed.”
“A person with their own unique music taste doesn’t have to land a job at a radio station to reach an audience. They just need to launch a show from their phone on Amp and reach anyone. Starting today, people will be able to see the creation of this new live audio experience being built in real time, right in front of their eyes.” states the official announcement from Amazon.
What’s next?
Right now, the app is still in the works. This launch is just the beginning, testing the waters to see what creators want to see, what works, and what doesn’t, so they can streamline their services to serve creators at the highest level.
