How Musicians Should Prep For Spotify Wrapped 2023
Record Your Wrapped Video Message
You’re got until November 15th to upload a personalized video for your fans to see on Spotify. Use this 30 seconds or less to thank your fans for all the support they’ve given you this past year, tease something big coming up, or shout out anything else you’ve been dying to say directly to your fans.
One thing to note is this is just a simple video message; no music in the background, no singing, no text or fancy filters. All you’ll need to add aside from the video itself is the perfect thumbnail and a quick caption. If you haven’t uploaded yours yet, you can do so right here.
(NOTE: Make sure you upload your video BEFORE the deadline. If you miss it, your fans won’t see your heartfelt message. 😢💔)
Update Your Merch
Last year, Wrapped was the biggest week ever for merch sales on Spotify. That means if you haven’t updated your merch on Spotify in a while, now is the time to do so. You have until November 15th to publish existing, new, or exclusive merch to your Spotify profile via their Shopify integration. Spotify also announced they’ll select up to five of your items, starting with the most recently added, to promote to your top fans via their Wrapped experience, email, and more.

Offer Your Top Fans a Discount on Merch
If you’re in the US or Canada, Spotify is offering a way to promote your merch during this time with a special discount code for your top fans on select items (of your choice, of course). To set this up, follow these steps below:
- Head to the Merch tab in Spotify for Artists, then go to Special Offers and click the “Create discount” button to get started.
- Select “Wrapped” as the reward audience, then choose a discount amount, and item(s) to be discounted.
- Review your discount, schedule it, and that’s it!
Update Your Profile
Once Spotify’s Wrapped hits the scene, more fans are going to be directed to your profile than ever. That means you need everything on it to be accurate and updated beforehand. Double check all your social handles, make sure your bio is up to date, and if you have a charity you want to highlight on your page, make sure your Fan Support link is updated as well.
If you have a concert or festival appearance coming up, make sure it’s featured on your profile. To show your concerts on Spotify, you need to list them on a ticketing partner site like AXS, Ticketmaster, Eventbrite, Songkick or one of the many other ticketing sites listed here. As long as you’ve got tickets available on any of these sites, Spotify will promote them to your fans during this year’s Wrapped.
