Symphonic’s Year in Review: 2023

A message from our CEO, Jorge Brea:

2023.

It goes without saying that this year has had its fair share of difficult moments. In the music industry constant evolution is the norm, but we seamlessly adapt to its ever-changing rhythm. As things change, we adjust the best we can. However, one thing remains true. Throughout every change and challenge, there is one word that continues to resonate with me… resilience.

You have the resilience to embrace challenges and growth opportunities, converting them into sources of inspiration that enrich your artform. You were resilient even when the live industry was having the toughest time it’s ever had. You were resilient even when the way you make money from your craft did a complete 180. Nothing stopped you and your art.

You were resilient. Through all of it.

Forgive me for my motivational speech moment, but you truly deserve recognition for navigating the complexities and challenges, as well as the diverse range of experiences, that this industry makes you navigate. You should be proud of yourself. No matter how big or small, you should be proud of the impact your music makes on the people around you.

Here at Symphonic, we’re proud to support you through your journey. We love what we do because of you. Seeing the success of creatives like you makes it all worth it. This year, we had Grammy nominees, we honored the most award winners we’ve ever honored, we partnered with badass companies like CapCut, GOGOPIX, Formless and more, and welcomed new talent with our Starter program. In addition, you helped us shape what we do as a company and assisted in molding our products with new technologies launched such as TransferTrack, SplitShare, Discovery Mode Analytics and many more.

This year, we’ve made significant strides in building our company’s community, especially through the Women Empowerment Program. We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve doubled the number of participants, connecting 165 mentors with 340 mentees across diverse regions including Africa, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and the US. In addition to this growth in our mentorship program, we’ve fostered in-person community engagement by hosting numerous networking events in Canada, Mexico, Colombia, Brazil, Puerto Rico, and Nigeria. These events attracted over 1,100 attendees, all united under the banner of independent music and empowerment. This collective effort exemplifies our commitment to nurturing a vibrant and supportive community within our company and beyond.

Nobody can tell with 100% certainty what 2024 is going to bring. Although all we can do is hope for the best, one thing we know for sure is we wouldn’t want to dive into this new year with anyone else. I am exceedingly thankful to work with the supportive and passionate people on our team, and it is an honor to serve artists like you. You make us resilient.

To our fans, family and friends, thank you for being here. We love you and appreciate your support more than you know.I hope you have a happy and safe holiday season.
