When it comes to the conference itself, you’ll want to bring all thenetworking and promotional essentials like your business cards, a notebook, pen, some merch items if you have ’em, demo CDs, or whatever else you think will help you make a lasting impression and perform your best.
After the conference, make sure to follow up with all the cool people you connected with via email or socials. Speaking of socials, it won’t hurt to post about your experience and engage with other attendees who’re posting about it too. The more connections you make, the better!
Tips For Visiting Guadalajara, Mexico 🇲🇽
- Research the culture and customs. Familiarize yourself with Mexican customs and etiquette, including greeting people with a handshake or kiss on the cheek (depending on the level of familiarity), respecting personal space, and being polite and courteous. It also wouldn’t hurt to learn some Spanish!
- Currency. The currency used in Mexico is the Mexican Peso (MXN). While credit cards are widely accepted in larger establishments, it’s advisable to carry cash for smaller transactions and in more remote areas.
- Pack for warm weather. Guadalajara has a temperate climate with warm temperatures throughout the year. (Just like anywhere, weather patterns can vary. Always check the weather forecast before your trip and pack accordingly.)
- Try some street food! Indulge in the flavors of Mexico by sampling some amazing street food like tacos, tortas ahogadas (drowned sandwiches), elotes, churros, and more from local vendors.
- Explore the street art. Take a walk through neighborhoods like Lafayette and find colorful murals and street art adorning the walls. It’s a great way to experience Guadalajara’s vibrant arts scene in your free time away from the conference.
