Beatport provides the global DJ community access to a vast catalogue of high quality digital music from the industry’s leading artists and labels. If you run a label and you’re interested in learning how to better promote your music on the platform to reach more fans and get more streams, you’ve come to the right place. In this article, you’ll learn everything you need to know.
How To Promote on Beatport as a Label
Beatport Hype
Beatport Hype is an accelerator program for labels who make less than 15k a year which offers more visibility opportunities to grow your label by giving you an exclusive space alongside other eligible labels. For a monthly fee of $10, this program groups your label into a pool of labels of a similar profile and revenue level, offering access to placement and chart visibility among developing labels, free from competition from the larger labels and brands that typically dominate the platform’s merchandising and charts. Genres eligible for Hype include the following:
- Afro House
- Dance / Electro Pop
- Deep House
- Drum & Bass
- Electronica
- House
- Indie Dance
- Mainstage
- Melodic House / Techno
- Minimal / Deep Tech
- Organic House / Downtempo
- Progressive House
- Techno (Peak Time / Driving)
- Tech House
- Trance (Main Floor)
Under this program, each Hype track submitted gets automatically delivered to Beatport’s expert curators, who hand pick the best emerging sounds to be showcased within feature spaces and curated charts. If you’re looking for more visibility in a less saturated space, this is the place to be.
LabelRadar
LabelRadar helps labels streamline the demo submission process, helping artists get heard while also allowing labels and promoters to review new submissions in one place. This FREE resource lets you seamlessly review demos in one unified format that cuts straight to the chase with all the info you need. Then, when you find something you want to promote, jump in a chat, send, and exchange agreements, all in one place.
Pre-orders
Pre-orders can be an important part of a strategy for the dance specialist partners. They can be shared ahead of the release, added to pre-save and smart link campaigns, and used in promotional posts on socials. For example, you can set a release for preorder 28 days in advance of your release date (or exclusive date, as appropriate). Those pre-sales will factor into your release or a specific track’s first-week chart eligibility, so if you opt to set a release for pre-order, we recommend you do so at least two weeks prior.

Dj Charts
The DJ Charts are an essential part of Beatport’s history. This is where you can get in front of the world’s largest audience of dance music fans with your own URL and custom page. The biggest DJs, labels, artists, and venues all over the world are promoting themselves by creating Beatport DJ Charts, posting gigs, and sharing their Soundcloud and YouTube accounts here. Beatport recommends that artists make a chart each time they release music. In addition, newly selected DJ Charts are featured each week on Beatport’s homepage, genre pages, and on the DJ Charts pages.
To get started, head to https://www.beatport.com/dj/charts/new and log in or create your user account. (DJ charts must be created via a customer account (DJ profile), which can then be linked to your artist profile by contacting our team at support@beatport.com.) After your accounts have been linked, DJ Charts will automatically appear on your artist page. If you already have a DJ profile or are using one of your artists’ DJ profiles, you can simply create the chart by logging into that user account
To create a DJ Chart, follow these steps:
- Choose your chart name, upload a picture, and add a description (Please note, artist charts must use a high-resolution artist picture to be considered for featuring. Charts using release artwork will not be featured.)
- Add 10-20 tracks of your choice by searching the store, selecting from your cart or your purchases. (You can also add tracks that are available for pre-order!)
- Next, you can drag and drop, remove, and even preview tracks until you are 100% happy with your selection
- That’s it! Now you can publish, and you’re ready to share your chart URL across social platforms.
Playlisting
Since the majority of Streaming subscribers are new to Beatport, Playlists on the platform are a great way to showcase your music to potential new fans and DJs. They regularly feature Artist Playlists in their newsletter, DJ web app, mobile apps, and across all compatible DJ software. (Speaking of playlisting, our client marketing team here at Symphonic works very hard to pitch material to DSPs all over the world. If you’re a Symphonic Partner client, you can request playlist pitching right in the SMS. 😉)
Consider an Exclusive Release
Beatport offers dedicated spaces and editorial playlists for content released exclusively with them. That also means you have a higher chance of charting when Beatport is the only store where your music is available. Beatport fans typically look for unique tracks you can’t find anywhere else, so if you’re looking for a way to make your new release really stand out, this is a strategy many use to increase their visibility.
In Conclusion…
Beatport is one of the most influential platforms for artists, labels, and fans of electronic music worldwide. Its role in the electronic music scene is undeniable, and with these tips, you can ensure your music reaches as many fans as possible.
Good luck!
