Thinking about releasing your music on Traxsource? Whether you’re new to the platform or just looking to level up your strategy, this post breaks down everything you need to know. From distribution and promo to charting tools and best practices, here’s the rundown…
Everything You Need To Know About Selling Your Music on Traxsource
About Traxsource
Traxsource is a digital music store built by DJs and producers for DJs and producers. Known for its deep focus on underground electronic music (especially house, techno, and everything in between), Traxsource has carved out a space as the go-to platform for tastemakers and purists alike.
Not your typical mainstream streaming service, Traxsource is a curated marketplace where quality comes first, and artists can actually sell their music directly to fans and working DJs who value high-quality audio and underground culture. It offers WAV and MP3 download options, daily and genre-specific charts, DJ top 10s, and exclusive promotional tools tailored for electronic labels and artists. So whether you’re an independent artist, boutique label, or long-time veteran in the scene, Traxsource is a powerful platform for getting your music into the hands of people who will really listen.
How To Distribute to Traxsource
To get your music on Traxsource, you’ll need to go through an approved distributor (aka, direct uploads aren’t allowed). Luckily for you, Symphonic is an official Traxsource partner! That means we can handle delivery, metadata, and release scheduling on your behalf to make sure your release is perfect with the correct formatting, artwork, timeline, etc.
When setting up a release, please make sure you’re submitting high-quality WAV files, artwork at least 3000x3000px, and complete metadata. We recommend delivering at least 3–4 weeks in advance of your intended release date to give it the best shot at editorial visibility, features, and pre-order opportunities.

Promo Opportunities
Getting your music on Traxsource is one thing… getting it noticed is another. Here at Symphonic, we offer a range of promo options to help boost your visibility on this platform. If you’re releasing through us, you’ll have access to:
- Featured Release Submissions: Pitch your release for potential homepage or genre chart placement.
- Traxsource Live!: Submit for a chance to be featured on their official radio show.
- Social Support: Explore opportunities for Traxsource social media coverage or takeover campaigns.
In addition, Traxsource also offers a few promo-specific tools that can give your release extra lift. These include:
- Exclusive Promo Releases: Making your release exclusive to Traxsource for a set period can lead to higher visibility and a better chance at editorial support. Exclusive promos often come with premium placement and a higher sales margin.
- Enhanced Exclusive Promo Opt-In: Labels that opt into this program receive a 65% revenue share (instead of the standard 60%) on exclusive promo sales. (This option is good for those looking to fully commit to Traxsource-first campaigns.)
💡 NOTE: To be considered for promo, your release must be submitted minimum 3–4 weeks in advance and accompanied by strong assets (press quotes, DJ support, artwork, etc.). The more lead time and context you give, the better your chances!
Artist Pages
Every artist who distributes music to Traxsource gets an official artist page on the platform. These pages automatically collect your released tracks and provide a central hub for fans and DJs to discover your catalog. To make the most of it, you’ll want to ensure your artist profile is up to date. This includes:
- Profile Photo: JPG format, sized at 600×600 pixels
- Accurate Artist Name: Avoid variants or misspellings across releases
- Consistent Metadata: Helps ensure tracks are properly linked to your page
Symphonic can help update your artist page if changes are needed; just reach out with your updated photo or corrections, and our team will handle the rest.
Charting & Analytics
Traxsource offers several real-time tools that help you track how your releases are performing across the platform. Some key features include:
- Top 100 Charts: Updated daily by genre and overall, these charts reflect what’s trending based on sales, not algorithms.
- DJ Top 10s: See which DJs are charting your tracks in their personal top 10 playlists; a great indicator of grassroots support.
- Label Charts: If you manage a label, you can monitor how your catalog ranks overall or within genre-specific categories.
These metrics are especially useful when evaluating the effectiveness of your marketing, gauging fan engagement, or pitching for further editorial support. In addition, Symphonic clients have access to internal performance data through our SymphonicMS dashboard. In the SMS, you can monitor downloads, revenue, and store-specific trends across all platforms, including Traxsource.
Creating Charts & Playlists
Building DJ charts or curated playlists on Traxsource is a great way to support your own releases, highlight tracks from your peers, and engage with the community. Charts can be shared directly with fans, featured on your artist page, and sometimes even picked up by the Traxsource editorial team. To create a chart:
- Log in to your Traxsource account.
- Browse the site and click the “+” icon on any track to add it to your cart.
- Once you’ve selected 10 tracks, go to your cart and choose “Create a Chart.”
- Add a title, description, and cover image.
- Submit! Your chart will appear on your artist page once it’s published.
Artists often use charts to promote new releases, spotlight labelmates, or showcase current setlists. It’s also a good look professionally, showing you’re active and engaged on the platform. (Note: You must have a valid Traxsource account and at least one release on the platform to create a chart.)
