Meet Ian Cahill

Ian Cahill is a Puerto Rican artist and music producer with limitless creativity. He started as a teenager playing bass in a band and went on to study at Berklee College of Music, where he was commissioned as a bass player for different recording sessions and live concerts.

He also started his own project, Da’ Bone Hip-Hop Ensemble. Ian has now established himself as a house DJ, producer, and executive producer, headlining local festivals and working with extraordinarily talented artists. With his eloquent combination of organic Afro-Caribbean Rhythms and influences ranging from Reggae to Minimal House, he creates a sonic concoction of sophisticated harmonies, funky basslines, and ground-shaking grooves that captivate the ear and the dance floor.

Based in San Juan, Ian Cahill has been shaping the electronic music scene in Puerto Rico, channeling the vibrant energy, cultural richness, and diversity of the island into his sound. Ian Cahill has traveled an incredible path from San Juan, taking his passion for music and technology to the next level. In this interview, Ian shares how his love for performance and innovation led him to graduate from Berklee College of Music and continue exploring new ways to fuse creativity with technology. His journey is about breaking barriers in electronic music while staying connected to his roots in Puerto Rico.

We recorded something amazing with him on a rooftop in the heart of San Juan, and although a heavy rainstorm hit during the shoot, we didn’t let it stop us. In his full set, Ian takes us through his unique “Bori-Minimal” style, inspired by Romanian minimal house, mixing minimal house and tech with that addicting Puerto Rican flair.
